How Does Neurofeedback Work?
- During the re-training session sensors are placed on the scalp.
- Sensors pick up brain waves and display them on a computer screen.
- The patient carries out tasks which help to replace abnormal rhythms with normal brain waves to improve deficit areas.
- The brain perceives these activities as a reward and with this positive reinforcement will increasingly choose to use the desired waves.
